    Gnarlbark the Treant —Anthony Sava
I just thought I'd share with the lugnet community my latest creature MOC. It is a treant I call Gnarlbark. In case you don't know what a treant is, I'll quote from my officially official AD&D Monstrous Manual (which is where I get a lot of my (...)      (...) Not an original idea, but then again when have any of my ideas been really 'orginal.' Glad you liked it, and thanks for the response! --Anthony (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Gnarlbark the Treant —Matt Hein
(...) Hmm...okay...well I'll have to say this looks more like a bandits fortress than a tree... Just a question, what is the "officially official" Ad&D manual anyway? Is it pertaining dungeons and dragons, or another of those never ending addictive (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Gnarlbark the Treant —Anthony Sava
(...) I can see where you're coming from on that one... (...) Officially official is my vain attempt at being cute. AD&D is as you guessed, pertaining to Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, and in this case, 2nd edition. (...) --Anthony (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Gnarlbark the Treant —Bruce Hietbrink
(...) In other words, these are Tolkien Ents, but TSR would have violated copyright if they'd named them that. Very cool MOC, Anthony. I'm going to link it from my Tolkien links page. Bruce (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Gnarlbark the Treant —Anthony Sava
(...) I know not the age of the word Treant, but I would bet dollars to doughnuts that's what happened. However, I've lived longer referring to them as treants than ents, so I'll most likely stick to it. I WAS, after all, a huge AD&D freak in my (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Gnarlbark the Treant —Jim Foulds
(...) <snip> (...) check out more of your Treant. From the pictures that are available, I really like the way you designed the hands. They definitely have a root-ish look to them. Question: Do my eyes deceive me or does this Treant walk on 4 legs? (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Gnarlbark the Treant —Mark Neumann
this is just cool. Dang, what am I saying, I love it! So are you going to make a mock-up of riled up Ents bashing a tower? The click hinges in the legs look a tad spindly, but I'm not sure what'd you do. Put a cleverly placed leaf there to hide (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.castle)
