I know not the age of the word Treant, but I would bet dollars to doughnuts
that's what happened. However, I've lived longer referring to them as treants
than ents, so I'll most likely stick to it. I WAS, after all, a huge AD&D
freak in my dark ages (as opposed to my medieval ages, which is where I am
now ;)
