    Walls of Zanzibar —Gary Thomas
Hi, I'm not much of a castle guy, but I was messing around with some ideas and put the following together: (URL) thought of this color scheme because all tan looked really boring, and this had a nice look to it. Also take note of the balcony and (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.adventurers) !!

Re: Walls of Zanzibar —Pedro Silva
(...) The exterior design is fantastic, it manages to maintain a fair degree of detail in a quite small space. My personal favourites are the sun-screens over the windows (what a colour scheme!), and the clever use of "white topping"; it comes out (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Walls of Zanzibar —Richard Marchetti
(...) I have to agree with Pedro here, you've done a lot with very little. The elements seem to have been placed with an almost zen-like precision. Nice. As to the color scheme of the window canopies, I know it well from a series of XXX-tra sleazy (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

(...) You got me curious... (feel free to e-mail me further data, if it is so "un-postable" in LUGNET :-P) (...) Would it be related to what you said above? :-D Pedro (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Hi Gary, I love your latest MOC! At www.1000steine.de/forum I mentioned that this is my favorite model for the next customer's MOC which LEGO should produce! The color sheme, the sun roof, the arch ... as said by someone else: Really really nice (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Gary, Wow, that's great, you have some nice details there (particularly the canopies) and the color scheme is nice. Thanks, George (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Walls of Zanzibar —Mark Haddock
(...) Would love to see a whole series of these of varying size (the way Lego does it) that could be combined together into one big town with a market, houses along the outer wall and the main hold in the center..         Re: Walls of Zanzibar —Aaron Sneary
Gary, This is one of the most beautiful MOC's I have seen in a long time. Unique, yet recognizable and simply built. Along with the tan/white scheme, I really like the lt. grey/dk. grey alternating plates in the wall. Your awnings are seconded only (...)          Re: Walls of Zanzibar —James Seibert
Elegantly simple and totally on the mark. I hope you don't mind someone borrowing your design. Although getting those 1x4 tiles will be difficult, I would like to build a whole desert port city along those lines. This would be great for pirate wars (...)         Re: Walls of Zanzibar —Greg Howell
Gary, I really like this MOC, it's really clean and there are tons of little details that pop out every time I look at the pics. It totaly remindes me of the early Pirates sets like the Eldorado Fortress. (URL) really like the small detail like the (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Walls of Zanzibar —John P. Henderson
(...) avoid noting that this was a great MOC. It has great detail with few pieces, and at a scale that can nicely fit into a traditional collection. Earlier in this thread, William Braun suggested this would make a good theme. In fact Gary's model (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)
