    Arrow Slits —Andy Lynch
Hello everyone. I was playing with some parts the other day and came up with this idea for arrow slits. It is a little large, but I really love how they look. (URL) me know what you think. -Andy Lynch (URL) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle) !!

Ok, I know I am a little slow on all the LEGO acronyms. SNOT? Oh, and while you are educating me, what's a BURP? (Finally figured out what a POOP is). PS: Make that thirds on wanting instructions ;) (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Studs Not On Top (although no studs on top is a more accurate phrase, it doesn't acronymize well). Big Ugly Rock Piece/Part - when these came out at the start of juniorization, they were a real eyesore. Now they're generally accepted and not quite (...)      Ok. For anyone who wanted to see construction pictures, they are now avalilable on BrickShelf: (URL) actually, they are destruction pictures.      Cool! I really need to play with this SNOT idea more, you can do some amazing things when you put your mind to it. I do believe I'll have to 'borrow' this idea Andy, as I've tried and tried and tried to come up with a decent way to do arrow slits (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

        Re: Arrow Slits —Magnus Lauglo
Very attractive design! My favourite way of doing arrow slits is just doing straight vertical slits half a brick wide. This makes for a much harder window for an enemy to shoot through. You can do pairs of them easily by using a few of the 1 by 2 (...) (23 years ago, 5-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

          Re: Arrow Slits —Magnus Lauglo
Nice window on the church! (...) I understand what you mena (I think). The only problem is that the horisontal part of the slit would still be one brick wide. I've been thinking about how to do cross arrow slits that would be around half a brick (...) (23 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Yeah those ends are real sweet. (...) I'll keep that in mind, but I'm away from my lego now, and still digicam illiterate, so I won't be able to get anything up anytime soon. cheers Magnus (23 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

         Re: Arrow Slits —Seth McCarus
I tried this last night, and came up with something that looks OK. I posted some LDraw images to Brickshelf: (URL) second and third images are color-coded; the dark grey parts are 1x2 plates with 1 stud and the blue is a 1x1 tile. The third and (...)          Re: Arrow Slits —Brian Muzas
An elegant solution -- no thick walls or SNOT required, just tiles and center-stud tiles. Plus, height is exactly 4 bricks. If a thick wall is used, more tiles and c-s tiles could be used to make unpaired slits. --Muze (...) plates (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

        Re: Arrow Slits —Magnus Lauglo
I was messing around with some lego over the weekend and came up with a very simple vertical arrow slit for the use of the corner of a tower. Take two to four (depending on how long you want it to be) 1 by 1 round bricks, stack them on top of each (...) (23 years ago, 11-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)
