  Re: Blue Castle, a 25 year-old MOC

(...) Very nice - has that Classic Lego feel to it. I like the pic showing the real cobweb in the archway - very cool. (20 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Sacre Blue! Someting is not quite right here!

(...) Those rounded bricks look awfully good. And now they match LEGO colors! The only drawback (well, besides not being LEGO) is that the rounded corners let a lot of light through. But you could solve that by sandwiching a layer of regular bricks (...) (20 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Sacre Blue! Someting is not quite right here!

(...) You're right; that inferior material is not allowed. The Brickshelf moderators get TONS of pics that they have to go through every day, so it's relatively easy for non-LEGO stuff to get through. (The moderators mainly check for stuff like (...) (20 years ago, 10-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle)

Hello Everybody. Today I invite you to travel back to a simpler time; a time before classic castle, space or even dark gray. We visit the world of a TFOL over 25 years ago. Yes, that teenager was me. I had already seen the usefulness of various sets (...) (20 years ago, 9-Apr-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.castle, FTX) !

Sacre Blue! Someting is not quite right here!

Hey what gives here? (URL) this "legal?" While I like the look of the castle, is building with this inferior material allowed? (read above comments in a French accent). ;^) Todd (20 years ago, 9-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle)

They are located at (URL) This is a new camera for me and it doesn't have a flash, nor that digital stabilization thingie, so I had to get creative with some of the picture names of the actual pictures.   Re: Great Tower

Hi Jason, Thanks for the compliments! I usually try to build the outer shell first and then go back and redo/rebuild as I add the interior. The reason for the black slopes is that those were what I had around, and I had already spent too much on (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Great Hall

(...) Hi Matthew, Thank you for your compliments. I did forget the chimney that should have been incorporated into the tower. This needs to be added at a later time if I remodel the hall. (you are the second person to catch this terrible flaw - (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Great Hall

Benjamin, I like your castle and especially the ceilings. I never paid much attention to ceilings and now I see how wrong I was! One small quibble with your great hall, if I may -- shouldn't a fireplace have a chimney above it? Or did I miss (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Great Tower

(...) Well done. As others mentoined, lots of activity. It's obvious that you planned the interior details as you were building this up. I always seem to have a problem with that. Instead I end up detailing stuff once the exterior is finished. (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)
