Try downloading the new version of L3PAO - I had exactly the same problem and
narrowed it down to L3PAO not passing the full path to the .dat file to L3P
and so the error message was that L3P couldn't find the input file but the DOS
box clears too quickly to see it. What was happening was that if you didn't
use the elipses (...) button to choose the .dat file then L3PAO wouldn't pass
the full path to L3P, just the dat filename. Jeff Boen has now fixed it (see
thread started as "Bug in LDAO when path deleted/renamed" by me (and changed
later to "Bug in L3PAO when path deleted/renamed" as I'd got the wrong program
name!) where I detailed the problem and Jeff has completed the thread with a
bug fix release.

| (...) Right. From (URL) or ldraw.ini It is no longer necessary to set the environment variable LDRAWDIR if you are using LDAO or LDLite. If LDRAWDIR is not set, L3P looks for ldraw.ini in C:\Windows (or the directory specified by the environment (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)
