Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
I've added a rendering and a box design of fictitious set 6888 Pentapterigoid Star Fighter (formerly the PentWing Fighter[1]) to my wallpaper page: (URL) LMKWYT! --Bram 1) see: (URL) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.space, lugnet.publish, lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

I think it SUCKS! Now that I have your attention, that's a b;atamt lie ;-). What can I say, awesome. Now, uh, suggestions for a cradle to display it in? ;-) Look like I'll need to crack out all those spare Snow Speeders for parts! (...) ***(URL) (...)          Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Hmm, I usually just stand it on its engines. The original version could balance rather well on one wing, but it can't in the new version. I suppose you could build a rack sort of like Eric K's B-wing racks to hold it... (...) If you build it, (...) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Jeff Thompson
(...) I love it. I love the background space graphic you used, too. Did you paint that, or is it rendered somehow? -- jthompson@esker.com "float on a river, forever and ever, Emily" (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Thanks! (...) It was rendered using elements from the galaxy include files I got from somewhere. Believe it or not, creating the background took much longer than orienting the model like I wanted it. --Bram (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

That Box Rocks. How'd you do that? (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Thanks! (...) I raytraced the images for the front and side panels of the box. Then I scanned in the logos from my Exploriens Starship box. I matched fonts as best I could where I needed to change the text a bit. After I finished creating the (...) (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Basically, all you have to do is add this in the texture: pigment { image_map { tga "filename.tga" } } You can replace "tga" with any other file format that POV-Ray recognizes. To make things easy, I just mapped the images to 1x1 squares[1], (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Thanks! (...) Well, you can always give it a shot. A background for an AT-AT might be a little more difficult, though. But it's doable. I'd love to see the piece count on _that_ box. --Bram (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Todd Lehman
(...) great that you provided disclaimers (in the image and in the post) noting that it's not an official LEGO set. (...) Jaw dropped. :) --Todd (25 years ago, 13-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.publish)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Mike Stanley
(...) I assume you're joking, but just in case - are you serious? Did you just convert another set into this? I don't even like most Space stuff, and I'd buy a few of these (your models) if you were selling. (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.publish)

Re: Pentapterigoid Star Fighter wallpaper —Bram Lambrecht
(...) I'm joking. You'd probably need to buy about a dozen sets (random number) to build this model. I haven't even built the box, just raytraced it. That would be an awesome project, though--to create an entire set, including all the artwork, (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.publish)
