The best solution is to use the LGEO library
(http://www.el-lutzo.de/lego/lgeo.html) which can be a bit of a hassle to
install but improves very many things in your renders.

I'm not sure that this is possible. Since a blue sky emits blue light it will
affect the scene.

Set them to colour 256 rather than 0 and then they should be rendered as rubber
(particularly if you use LGEO)
