(...) No it's not. If the render is old and not updated then it will never the ldconfig.ldr file anyhow, so the dithered colors in ledit and ldraw will never change. This is for the future. (...) (...) It's needed for backwards compability. Using an old/not updated renderer shouldn't make the rendering look awkward. But using a newer renderer should make it better. (...) On that note, let me toss in my $2. I agree with Cary and Steve that dithering should go. Who needs it? The renderer should be able to convert from true color to dithered colors if the display is underpowered. If you must have it for some (...)
