Bram, I think the image you presented is very nice, and you gave a very interesting tutorial on creating it. Great stuff! I think this method has some very interesting properties, compared with using ldglite (What is the correct capitalization? (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) You are correct, all reflection was turned off. I'll outline the important bits: First, you *cannot* use LGEO parts, since they don't have the sharp edges that the find_edges process picks up. The shape of the ground is a heightfield based on the pattern image type, and the texturing is accomplished using slope-dependent textures. The source for the scene can be found at (...) (...) Well yes, I once compared the orthographic projection to a perspective projection seen from an infinite distance. I suppose this would give you an infinitely small camera angle. (...) Jeroen, I made a .MOV - 2.3 megs. I had a lot of trouble getting it that small - I have not worked with Quicktime files much - the first try came out at 75 megs!. I have posted an animation that I made of a little switcher engine being built piece by piece. There are two versions, once 640x480 (4.5M) and the other at 320x240 (756KB).
