Can anyone tell me how to mirror a model in MLCad or LDraw?  I'm currently
utilizing MLCad to make dat files of my Imperial Shuttle, and I've completed
the left wing for it.  I'd like to simply mirror the right wing, since it's
an exact symetrical copy of the left wing.  This would save me quite a bit
of time as the wings are quite large.  I've figured out how to copy parts
and entire models, but I cannot find a way to mirror the parts... I'm sure
it's possible as it seems like a logical function to include in a cad
program, but I just can't figure out how it's done.  Any information would
be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Bryan

(...) Unfortunately none of the CAD proggies (that I'm familiar with) support an automated mirror function. Hopefully we can add that to Michael's "todo" list for MLCAD. If the wings truly are identical you can probably get close by copying and (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) If you save your wing as a file (ex. wing.dat), then you can open a new file in MLCad, go to Multipart-Import Model, find your wing.dat file and import it. Then select the main model of the newer file, click the Add-Part button, check the (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) Here's how I'd do it. Suppose you've currently got this "left wing" sub-assembly in a subfile which, for the purpose of this example, I shall call "leftwing.dat". Inside your main model's DAT file, you will have a line as follows: |> 1 q x y z (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I wrote a VB program to mirror the symetrical portions of my star destroyer. I can post it somewhere if anyone is interested : ) "Bryan Hodges" <bhodges@SPAMBLOCKco...ntweb.net> wrote in message news:G59Gqv.3p2@lugnet.com... (...) completed (...) (...) (24 years ago, 9-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
