  Line of error

I have just finished looking through some posted dat-files. And of course they had errors. Mainly because of linewrap. MLcad announces politely that there is an error. But why not tell the linenumber too?!. That would make errorfinding a lot easier. (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Line of error

Is there any way to program it to attempt to fix line wrapping errors? It seems to me that if it encounters and error, it could attempt to remove the carriage return and see if it continues to load properly. I would think that would be very helpful, (...) (...) 3D-modelview-window. You know, (...) only on my computer? (...) I just upgraded to 1.7 and noticed this too (wasn't present in 1.6). Slightly distracting, but no big deal. It's interesting that these parts look fine in the 3D view. Will Visit (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I don't think it should fix the linewrap problem automatically. But it could show the two lines and let the user decide. -- Djelle alias Mogens Sørensen ___...___ E-mail - Home: Djelle@Get2Net.dk ICQ: 38701158 Web: (URL) Poindexter (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) IIRC, LDraw treats carriage returns just like any other whitespace, so line wrapping in LDraw has no effect. However, this would probably lead to problems with lines which truly contain errors (eg, not enough orientation numbers)... --Bram (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I see that missing triangle also, usually on 3298.dat. It renders fine in POVRay though. Lots of ldraw parts have issues like this when you convert them to .dxf and import them into 3d studio max also. Backface cull only does so much. Bummer. -- (...) Yes, I saw it too - was a rounding problem caused by a small speedup, and could already fix it so that its working again with 1.8. I will try to find another way of reporting load-errors .... I thougt to report errors just once per part and I think (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Line of error

(...) If a line doesn't have enough orientation numbers, LDraw will usually choke when it tries to treat the filename as a number. One important thing about LDraw and linebreaks: once it's read enough data to complete a command, LDraw ignores (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
