IMHO the page is quiet useful giving you a guideline when to hold a part and
when not. You cannot expect a reviewer flicking through several pages to find
out if the error he has spotted is reason enough to hold the part.

I'm half done with a validation program that I've whipped up from existing LDDP
code.  Stay tuned.

Try out LDraw Validator:
http://www.pobursky.com/common/temp/LDV.zip

The zip file contains both a Windows and OS X binary.  I'll post the source once
the program is complete.

What it checks:
- Compliance with header spec (mostly, see below)
- Compliance with !CATEGORY and !KEYWORDS spec
- Compliance with LDraw.org File Format Restrictions for Official Parts (mostly,
see below)
- All of the error checks LDDP makes (except identical lines, see below)

What it doesn't check:
- Ensure the header meta commands are in the order specified by the header spec.
- !HISTORY meta at all
- Decimal precision
- Identical lines (I overlooked these.  Will be added in next build)
- Overlapping polygons (No plans to add this as it would be nearly impossible
due to the nature of the exceptions)
- Format for stickers

Most of the above list will be added at some point.

(...) It complains with invalid !license on files that seem ok to me. (...) What do you mean? (...) I think it could be done. But is it really necessary? Thresholds would need to be defined too... Philo (15 years ago, 16-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) I wonder why this windows execute is soooo large (12,6 MB!) and LDDP is only 1,9 MB?. cu mikeheide (15 years ago, 17-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
