  ldraw.org off-line from 8:00 to 8:30 (Danish time)

I move the ldraw.org server to a proper server room in a moment. Expect half an hour of downtime. Play well, Jacob (23 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Unplanned downtime for ldraw.org

Some jerk has pulled out a cable from the ldraw.org server, so the machine will be off-line for at least two more hours, and maybe until tomorrow morning (DK time). Play well, Jacob -- Beware of the system operator... (23 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

LDraw MOTM winner for April 2001

Well here it is, April Fools day, and I have to announce a winner to a contest. Sounds like a setup, doesn't it? But all joking aside, the winner for this month is Brad Hamilton. This is Brad's second win with his awesome architecture. Way to go (...) (24 years ago, 1-Apr-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw) !

LDraw.org to change name to be more accepting to other brands

Hello everybody - It has come to my attention recently that the name 'LDraw' in 'LDraw.org' is a tad discriminating against other brands of building blocks. It's with a heavy heart that I announce that the site will be changing its name in the near (...) (24 years ago, 1-Apr-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Parts Library License

Here's what I hope to be the final version of the license. Let me know if you have any comments, if nobody wants to change anything it will become the official license (that's why I'm cross posting to several newsgroups). ===...=== LDraw Parts (...)   LDraw meeting at Brickfest 2001 - Interest?

Hey - A few of us have had the idea of an LDraw discussion meeting on development of software, the website, brainstorming, etc at BrickFest 2001. Our in-person meeting at the CAD Summit in NY was a great success - meeting face to face and being able (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parts Tracker Prototype Posted

(...) If the server is a UNIX server then maybe you can use RCS - I think this change/version control system is implemented on most commercial UNIX platforms and is not difficult to use. In addition to the file locking it could also give you version (...) (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) FYI, in case anyone was getting ready to roll up their sleeves and play with this: I've added these items to the prototype.   Re: No one interested in editing but...

(...) I might be able to do some stuff this weekend if you can give me an idea of what's needed, but I can't make any firm promises. (...) I can volunteer to keep the linux section temporarily until you find someone else to maintain it if that doesn't require too much work (ie. just maintain a list of links). Leonardo (24 years ago, 22-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Parts Tracker Prototype Posted

(...) In the prototype? It's just a simulation -- the submit/upload just copies a file from somewhere on your hard drive to <prototypedir>/active/. The download would do the same thing, except in reverse. (...) In the prototype? No. It's a (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Parts Tracker Prototype Posted

(...) I admit that I'm pretty VB-illiterate (hey, that mix of GUI and bussiness logic always gives me headaches ;-)), but I don't see how you will manage the upload/download part.
