Here's what I hope to be the final version of the license. Let me know
if you have any comments, if nobody wants to change anything it will
become the official license (that's why I'm cross posting to several
newsgroups).

liable for any damages arising from the use of this library.
Permission is granted to anyone to use this library for any purpose,
and to alter it and redistribute it freely, subject to the following
restrictions:
1. The origin of this library must not be misrepresented; you must not
claim that you wrote the original library. If you use this library
in a product, an acknowledgment in the product documentation is
required.
2. Altered versions must be plainly marked as such, and must not be
misrepresented as being the original library.
3. This file may not be removed or altered from any distribution.
If you redistribute a modified version, we would appreciate that you
include in a file history information documenting your changes.

| (...) (maybe this has been discussed around here... if so, please kindly forget this message) why don't you GPL it? (URL) GNU GPL & LGPL licenses are quite developed, well known, and free for all. you've got lots of info and experience from other (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad)
