...Mine is 79 Mb in size after 9902 parts update. For speed, I don't want to go GIF or JPEG, and I'm not too crazy about reducing the rendering size for the VEC. Question #1: Will Image Magick convert 24-bit BMPs to 8-bit? Question #2: Has anyone (...) (26 years ago, 1-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

How big is my what!? Oh.... Right now, mine is 14 mb. Yep, 14,722,692. But I have it rendered at 50% *and* I used a batch conversion to reduce the LDLite output to 8 bits.(1) Sure it took a while, but the savings were significant. If I remember (...) (26 years ago, 2-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

It's got nothing to do with LDAO, but it is currently less than 1 MB. Of course, then you have to print it out. Or keep another program open and use "find" a lot. (26 years ago, 3-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Since I know what just about every peice is named in LDraw, I find ONYX's part search program much more useful than the VEC, so I've deleted my VEC dir (sorry Steve - I still use the other useful functions of LDAO, though) --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o (...) (26 years ago, 3-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Hmmm. A 6.4 GB drive is $124 at Fry's today, for a cost of roughly $0.01 USD per 0.5 MB. If we assume this option saves 22 MB for each of the 500 LDLite users, the net savings to the entire world will amount to $220, which is probably worth an hour (...) (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
