Hello to everyone,
I'm working a small tool similar to l3p addon but
it will be very simple, basic, won't need any dll
and won't use windows registry.
Well this post mainly is to say that I have a
suggestion / idea for all ldraw related software
that runs under windows my suggestion is:
Could all apps use only ini files or cfg files
instead of the registry and save all ini / cfg
files in lets say C:\lego\configs or in the users
My documents in desktop "NT/XP"?
And that way we could just backup the Lego dir
and all it's configs, models, videos, apps.
Oh and last thing try not to use dll like VB6
What about it?

| (...) Another positive side-effect of not using the registry is if you have to move the folder that all your LDraw related tools are stored in, you dont have to dig through the registry to fix all the path names. I had to do this and it was a big (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

| I understand where you're coming from, but I personally feel that the registry does have its place, if used properly. Mind you, most programs don't use it properly in my opinion. LDView uses the registry to remember your settings, and to remember (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
