I was able to lay my hands on 5 ClrDkBlue parts and all are marked 6259. And
the grey ones on my Y-wing are 6218. IIRC the UFO quarter saucers used
different mould numbers for the clear and opaque versions of the same part.
Maybe there is a different process/temperature/specification needed for clear
part moulds??

Chris

I've seen this before but did not realize what was happening. The  'Container
Box 2 x 2 x 2 Door with Slot' p/n 4346 in Light Grey (from Tie & Y-Wing) is
marked 4346. The same part in Trans-Green (from 6180 Hydro Search Sub) is • marked
30059. Side by side, they look more or less identical, but there must be some
difference.

Likewise, the 'Container Box 2 x 2 x 2' p/n 4345 (in White, Tie & Y-Wing) is
marked 4345. The corresponding box (Trans-Green, from 6180) is marked 30060.

Does this mean that part entries should have both a part number and a synonym
number for the tranparent version ?

Ray
I think we should have a dat file for each number, so that if you read the part
number from the part it is obvious whether or not a .dat file exists). One just
needs to be a type 1 command to the other file.

eg.
0 Container Box  2 x  2 x  2 (transparent version)

(...) Heres another data point for the list... 'Hinge Panel 2 x 4 x 3 & 1/3' which partsref lists as 2582, a trans-green piece has 6139 as the mould number. Oddly, a light-grey part (from Gungan Sub) has no visible mould number on it. Another (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
