  LDraw Parts Update 9905

Salutations, LCAD9905 has been uploaded to the server: (URL) that it is only there for now, as I couldn't get the Geocities/Yahoo site switched over yet. Profuse apologies for the delays, yadda, yadda, yadda.... :-) -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 5-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad)

can parts authors try to finish what they have started?

can parts authors try to finish what they have started before they start new parts? i notice that the parts tracker lists lots of "in progress" parts and i have others such as the tie fighter bracket that are not even listed! one person in (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Stickers

the way i name my "stickers" are simply 0 ~Sticker:Maersk Logo thats an example.of coarse there are litterally millions of stickers, official and unofficial custom. now the "~" is ment for subparts. and if you think bout it, stickers can be (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: new LDAO version geocities "cant find"

(...) Sorry, I biffed the HTML. The link should be OK now. This is odd, I don't *remember* having to redo that page after the first posting. And some people did manage to download the file. Odd. Steve (25 years ago, 3-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Stickers (Was: x740 Minifig Vest)

(...) If we can figure out a standard for constructing, formatting, and naming them, no problem. As you said, the real value would be in high-quality renderings. I would just like to re-iterate that stickers *pre-applied* to pieces is a no-no. But (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: [LDAO] New beta version available

After I downloaded the new version of LDAO, I noticed one problem. In the VEC, the only piece that did show up was one that I had moved to a different catergory. It didn't tell me to update the Vec or anything, and all the images were there. I tried (...) (25 years ago, 2-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: 3840p01 Minifig Vest with Danger Stripes Stickers (Was: x740 Minifig Vest)

(...) I recall a long thread about this back on LCAD. I thought we agreed then that stickers should be treated as separate "parts", since they can in theory be stuck anywhere. It kind of got held up because sticker "parts" have only a very small (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDAO Suggestion Mark 2

(...) Something to consider here is future expansion into a UNIX-ish (or Java, or Perl/TK, etc.) version of LDraw. The availability of setting startup parameters on the command-line in these cases is essential. (...) Oh. :-, I wonder if I'm a (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDAO Suggestion Mark 2

(...) One problem I have with the command-line option is that the command line is already long enough. But that doesn't mean that having the option is bad. (...) I was worried about the user more than the developer. (...) In VB, there's a function (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: LDAO Suggestion Mark 2

(...) Definitely. (...) Both IMHO are necessary. I do all my non-LDAO (which is quite a bit) LDraw/LDLite stuff from the command-line. VC++ doesn't make it *that* hard to implement exotic command-line parameters, especially if one uses getopt(). I (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: [LDAO] New beta version available

(...) Well, I went and checked again, and you were right about Mover eating the first on each line of header comments. That's been fixed. I've *got* to make Mover do recursive corrections (ie, fix submodels). And directory-wide operations. Steve (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
