Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) I've made LDLite save 8 bit bitmaps and sent the changes to Paul about 1 month ago but he didn't answer me. I wonder if he didn't get the message or if he just didn't like what I've done. :) Leonardo (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Discussion-Large Technic Shock 2909c01.dat

In lugnet.cad.dev, Terry Keller writes: (about my file COILTEST.DAT in LUGNET.CAD.DAT.PARTS) [snip] (...) It wasn't difficult at all, I just did a copy of the spring section lines from the shock absorber shortcut file, and did a paste two times in a (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) Thanks for that, Steve. Another thing I need to do. -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: How big is your VEC dir?

(...) Just to provide a more-or-less final answer to this question, Image Magick includes mogrify.exe, which is designed to do mass file conversions. Using mogrify, I converted all the VEC images to BMP-RLE format. Which took the VEC down to 6.5MB. (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) Yeah, but only when the rotation point is in a normal position. I agree with Sproat, because the hinges will still be easy to position if left unturned. Also, whenever they are turned, it will most likely be in a sub model, so the insertion (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: star wars ion cannon

(...) P A T I E N C E It is in the next vote. Which will be starting shortly. -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: problem with parts

(...) 1. whoops. Dang, I mindlessly pasted the images into gif file without thinking. I will delete those. 2. The plates will be fixed. I made the decision to go ahead and release the parts as-is, and wait for a fix from Steve. -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Update 9904 released

(...) You are correct, sir. I was aware of that, and Steve Bliss has already said he will fix those of his that are in error, as well as an original piece by James. At the time he said this, I already had the update all ready to go, and so decided (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) Exsqueeze me? Look again, Sproat. Some of the hinge pieces *are* centered on the hinge section: 3830 3831 2429 2430 3149 314 3324 -- Terry K -- (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) Agreed. Rotation is the bigger pain. (...) In LEdit, I occasionally add an imaginary new piece, "rotate.dat", after the piece I want to rotate. Move it to the point where I want it, then set the rotation on that point. Move back up a line to (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Update 9904 released

(...) I took a gander at the patterned baseplates and noticed something disturbing: Half of the (14 existing) patterns don't line up properly. There is much variation between line thickness and positioning, and I don't think there should be. Most, (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) The center should be centered on the top of the brick, between the studs, as it is with every other hinge piece in LDraw. Moving the center of rotation to the hinge is a trivial amount of work, as it is with every other hinge piece in LDraw. (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Where should I center this one?

(...) The center should be on the rotation point. Like you said, rotating the pieces when the rotation point is not centered on the hinge is a bigger pain than getting the pieces into the right position. (It would be great if some future version of (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  star wars ion cannon

what is happening with this part? is it ready yet steve? if it is not going to be in the sw vote then can you please post it to cad.dat (what you have of it)? (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  problem with parts

i have discovered 2 things with 99-04: 1.the gif image is wrong. it shows the forestmen and waiter torsos when it should not. 2.the yellow t-junction part needs to be fixed ASAP. the yellow lines are wrong. they do not line up with the yellow lines (...)   Minifig hair

Is there a minifig hair-piece (both for maing a man and a woman) in LDraw? If, what numbers do they have? And if not, will anbody make this? I am also wondering about the triangular, flat hats found in some pirate and castle sets. I need theese (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Update 9904 released

LDraw cognoscente, The last voting parts have been released, LCAD9904. Mostly new parts, with a few fixes that didn't make the last maintenance update. The large Technic shock is not included. Still need to figure out how best to release it. (URL) (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  part wanted: at-at foot

i am looking for the part that has been refered to on rtl as a good part for an at-at foot. if someone can give it to me (even a mock-up) then i promise to make a seriouly cool at-at model. (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Discussion-Large Technic Shock 2909c01.dat

(...) No, just the one-shot deal. Of course, it may look better at a smaller scale. Then again, it may look worse. I would do it right now, but I can barely keep my eyes open, and I promised myself "email and lugnet only, then to sleep". -- Terry K (...) (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Making new (Star Wars) parts

i assume that the round corner tile from the front of the landspeeder is in the sw mini update? if it is not then it should be also the one part of note that hasn't been done (even in pock-up form( is the tie canopy. anyone want to consider a (...)
