Just out of curiosity, what are 'optional lines'?

Optional lines should actually be called "conditional lines." They are used to model rounded surfaces so that the edge-lines only appear if they form the outer boundary of the rounded surface. If you think of a cylinder, you want edge-lines to show (...) (26 years ago, 11-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
