(...) It is my experience that "development" type discussions are no longer run on LUGNET, rather they have been taken to some disclosed private mailing lists. Personally, I don't see any benefits from changing the extensions. We already have .LDR (...) (23 years ago, 29-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

If anyone is having difficulty getting the .dat files for the Liquid Cathedral working, then contact me. There is apparently some confusion over the fiendishly difficult installation of files necessary for part 6002 (which is the Paradisa 1/4 dome). (...) Nope, those are supposed to both be there. 2546p01 is the general file, the one we'll use most often. 81379 is an 'official shortcut' - 81379 is LEGO's number for the parrot piece, (...) I looked in the primitves directory and saw that some of the files in the 48 directory had the same filename as those in the P directory. How does Ldraw/Mlcad differentiate between these files? If 3001.box is renamed to 3001.dat, and I place it in (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Tore: (...) Except that the extensions "box" and "min" don't seem to correspond to the two concepts, it might be a good idea to identify the simplification level based in the file name extension. But since the file format is (I assume) still the (...) (23 years ago, 12-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I like that idea. If the default view is what you said (the [0.707104 ...] matrix), then a projection matrix of 1.4142,0,0,0,1.2196,...171,1.2247 in front of it would give the same effect as the original LDRAW default matrix. I've wanted to pull out (...) (23 years ago, 7-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
