Re: Is the LDraw parts database free?

(...) YES, I know that is why I posted it ! This conversation with Jammes was in the early beginning of his Ldraw(1995). I think Jammes wanted _his_ parts to be(come) a standard and because Leonardo Zide made a windows based programm he wanted to (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) It would probably work well in the renderers, but you would need to create a new editor (LEdit type program) optimized for K'Nex pieces instead of LEGO pieces... You would probably have to use a smaller scale, too, because K'nex constructions (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) It would make sense to package the clone parts together by brand. (...) Good thought. It probably wound work quite well, just like Lego. My remaining opinion is - try to stay with the original intention of LDraw, and lets not let it be (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) That's what I was thinking. It would actually be kinda cool to have various files for different brands. A "Tyco Parts Pack" and a "Coco Brick Parts Pack", and etc. -- Steve I've always wondered how well K'nex would work in LDraw. (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: I need help with the new tread links

(...) Basicly I cant figure out the right angles and positions to fit a complete set around the gears I have. -- Jonathan Wilson wilsonj@xoommail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Sure would. (...) You're probably more right than I am here. Afterall, it promotes LDraw, and the point of ldraw.org is a centralized resource. Not allowing non-Lego LDraw models on the site would be contradicting that charter and encouraging (...)   Re: Help! The Classic 4-blade rotor has been overwritten!

[moved to lugnet.cad.dev] (...) Thanks for pointing this out, James. I'm looking into it. Note to anyone looking for the original 3464.dat: it is in the lcad97-17 update, available from ldraw.org. Just be careful not to overwrite any other (newer) (...) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
