Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) That's only true if the polygons are the same color. If they're different colors, it's an error. I've seen official parts with overlapping polygons that are different colors. --Travis (15 years ago, 16-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) I'll look into this. The !LICENCE check is case sensitive so unless you have exactly what's in the spec, it will complain. (...) The Lib Spec says that 3 decimal places is enough in most cases (4 for scalable primitives). This would be a (...) (15 years ago, 16-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) It complains with invalid !license on files that seem ok to me. (...) What do you mean? (...) I think it could be done. But is it really necessary? Thresholds would need to be defined too... Philo (15 years ago, 16-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) Try out LDraw Validator: (URL) zip file contains both a Windows and OS X binary. I'll post the source once the program is complete. What it checks: - Compliance with header spec (mostly, see below) - Compliance with !CATEGORY and !KEYWORDS (...) (15 years ago, 15-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) I suggest to use LDDP or Datheader instead. Both of them include the correct code to check for non-coplanar quads and are more convenient to use. Planarcheck should only be used by parts authors to automatically split non-flat quads. (...) (...) (15 years ago, 12-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) I'm half done with a validation program that I've whipped up from existing LDDP code. Stay tuned. -Orion (15 years ago, 12-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) IMHO the page is quiet useful giving you a guideline when to hold a part and when not. You cannot expect a reviewer flicking through several pages to find out if the error he has spotted is reason enough to hold the part. To kickstart I'm (...)   Re: LDraw.org's position on web links to an external site

(...) I just deleted these two sites: (URL) I kept this one: (URL) sites host building instructions but Sven's site adds much more than simply piling up bricks in a .ldr file. This should make clear what we are aiming for. w. (15 years ago, 6-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) Actually, this page should probably be removed. The official library standards are listed in one place: (URL) other documents are probably out of date. -Orion (15 years ago, 6-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

LDraw.org's position on web links to an external site

The LDraw Steering Committee (SteerCo) has elaborated a policy on what kind of links to external websites should be listed on LDraw.org. LDraw.org is a web site dedicated to virtual building with LEGO bricks, not LEGO in general. We focus on the (...) (15 years ago, 6-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) This page definitely needs to be updated, if only to add text saying that planarcheck should be used instead for checking non-coplanar quads. I didn't see the lugnet post when that standard changed, and it's hard or impossible to find the new (...) (15 years ago, 2-Jul-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: L3P -check Messages and hold votes

(...) I think the best would be to make an upgrade to L3P for current standards, as it is the most used checking tool IMHO. Most of the technical hold reasons are already defined but not present at the mentioned page. I have tried to put all I saw (...) (15 years ago, 30-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

L3P -check Messages and hold votes

Hi folks, it appears that thanks to the hard work of the LSC the LDraw specs have undergone considerably changes.   Help working the Non-CA and L(EGO)Draw parts queue

Hi folks, first of all a big "Thank you" to all the authores how have contributed re-writing Non-CA parts or get the so-called L(EGO)Draw parts (coming from the LEGO Group through the LEGO Universe team) fit for the PT.   Re: LDraw LEGO Ambassadors: Call for nominations

DATHeader version 2.0.5 (The Reviewer Tool)
