i have a font that might be of use. it is called charcoal. it might look good. it is the mac system font from mac os 8.0 but i ripped it off from the macs at my school (where i no longer go because i am now at uni) and converted it to windows TTF (...) (26 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Usually I just use PNG instead of GIF which cuts roughly 20% of the file size (on average). If you want to improve the GIF compression of images you have to reduce the colour depth of the images. I use pnmdepth (from the netpbm/pbmplus (...) (26 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I am wondering if there might be cases where a worthwhile approach would be to start with a raster DAT (that's the bitmap after 2DAT'ing it), and replace some or most (but not all) with vector commands. (...) Yep, that's pretty much where I'm at. Especially since I use my newsreader for scanning the groups, and I hop over to the web interface specifically to look at the postings in lugnet.cad.dat.
