(...) We are both partially right - but there is a generic problem with these parts. The important dimension is the position of the axis of rotation of the click hinge, relative to the brick. Using LDView I have dectected a non-planar quad at the base. Corrected. The error was already in the official part. Chris Dee is right. This part is from set 6987, a Blacktron I set from year 1988.
