Normally we would have a basic dat file (eg 30296.dat) for the part without any printing and all in colour 16, and a separate dat file with a pxx suffix for decorated parts (eg. 30296p01.dat).   Shade variations worthy a part?
 
Hi folks, I'm currently discussing with Chris if the following classic space baseplates are just two variants not worthy of separate parts 'cos they are more a shade variation like on the red forestmen torsos?   New Part : Minifig Torso with Futuron Pattern  [DAT]
 
In this part I have hard-coded the torso in white so the part colour controls the coloured detail on the torso. This allows the same part to be used for the Black/Blue/Red/Yellow versions. This is not without precedent, as the Town Dungarees Pattern (...) (25 years ago, 13-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) I cannot guarantee the providence of the torso in my 6040, or my 6285 (which has a plain yellow torso as the figurehead) as my copies of these sets are second-hand. (...) It sounds like you've ended up with files in the wrong folders, and it doesn't matter how many times you run the Scan command, since MLCad has no idea which files should be where.
