  Snatch it?

hi folks, there are pics. at brickshelf (URL) some parts which have never been submitted to the PT. this site even contains the .dat file: (URL) some former investigation I ended up at the authors website: (URL) tried to contact "Gonta" through a (...)   Re: Snatch it?

(...) Good question. In my view, all efforts to contact the author should be taken (and it sounds like you've been doing just that) but I am not sure that "snatching" a part, even one that's very rough and strongly desired and really only good for a (...)   Re: Snatch it?

(...) "Gonta" states clearly under the parts that they are to use freely. I have personally received requests for the wheels and tyres from others and have forwarded them on. These parts and others have been available from his site far quite some (...) (20 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Snatch it?

(...) (snip)... (...) I'd be more comfortable if we knew who Gonta was... BUT (...) your point is well taken. If someone did that and gave credit and a bit of history in the remarks it would be hard to see how anyone could say rights weren't being (...) (20 years ago, 3-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Snatch it?

(...) Because our general approach has been that contributions to LDraw.org must be made voluntarily. We are not going to pull stuff in from people without their knowledge. However, would it help at all if we could get someone fluent in Japanese to (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Snatch it?

[Steve has a brilliant insight, and cross-posts to lugnet.loc.jp] (...) I tried to post a message on Gonta's board, but I don't think it worked (the translator wouldn't translate the posting-response page, it said there was too much text). I should (...)   Re: Snatch it?

(...) I strongly agree with this and feel we really need to adhere to it. This case seems to be shading toward "they approved in advance" but still, it's a good policy to adhere to. I had thought that every avenue had been exhausted, and was willing (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Snatch it?

(...) before I started this thread I also tried to make my way through the message board but without any success. I even sent a mail to the guy how translated MLCad into japanese asking if he could post my message in an japanese lugnet if there is, (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Snatch it?

(...) Well guys, no dice. We sent an Email in Japanese to every address we could find. Thay all bounced undeliverable. I guess this means that if you want to use his parts then you'll have to rework them for PT complience and then submit giving (...) (20 years ago, 11-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Snatch it?

(...) The files have been posted to the PT. I uploaded 5 parts, 1 sticker-part, and a couple of subfiles. I did not upload GONTA's version of 4696.dat, although it 'looks better' than Marc Klein's -- I don't have a real example of that part handy, (...) (...) I missed the doors. I've now uploaded 30073, 30073p01, 30073p02, 30074p01, and 30074p02. I'm sure it won't take long for someone to make s30073s01, put the one stud (to rule them all) in each file, and BFC the lot. Steve (20 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)
