    BBB wheels —Tim David
Has nyone made or is anyone working in an Ldraw part for the BBB train wheel? Obviously itwould always remain an unofficial part but I can see a lot of train CAD people using the part if it were made. Tim (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

         Re: BBB wheels —Ronald Borchert
(...) Hi. These are not the BBB-wheels of Ben Fleskes. Brickshelf-"Ben" is Reinhard "Ben" Beneke. I think the wheels are different. Ronald (21 years ago, 20-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) Yes, they are. They might work as a stand-in, though. ++Lar (21 years ago, 21-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: BBB wheels —Ross Crawford
(...) OK they're available on the BBB site (URL) but they're HUGE! Has anyone done a cut-down version? If not, I will attempt it. ROSCO (20 years ago, 23-Dec-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        BBB wheels —Marc Dupraz
(...) I use the files provided on the web site of BBB, and haven't noticed any troubles. They, may be, are huge file ... I don't know, I'm not an expert in this domain. I simply use these files. By the way, the wheels are great stuff to play with. (...) (20 years ago, 24-Dec-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: BBB wheels —Tim David
(...) I too have used them without any noticable problems. I don't know how efficiently modelled they are but they are quite a complicated (in terms of amount of faces) part. Tim (20 years ago, 28-Dec-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

        Re: BBB wheels —Ross Crawford
(...) Just to clarify, yes they are usable, but at over 600K and 10000 lines each, they use some serious resources when rendering. I unfortunately don't have a computer with a huge amount of resources, and I don't think it's necessary. I assume they (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Hi, I wonder what would happen if: I converted the BBB file back into 3DS format with 3DWin Opened it in MAX and exported as ASE Ran it through Stefan Gustavson's new (...)         Re: BBB wheels —Darrell Urbien
Er... Never mind. I did it for one part (URL) (original file size 661K) and came up with this one: (URL) - new file size 970K. So the added generations did something funky to the filesize. Oh well, worth a shot! Darrell (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

        Re: BBB wheels —Ross Crawford
(...) Bummer! Oh well. I have yet to get the OK from Ben to post the DATs, but my filesizes are: Ben's Mine fw176.dat 660k 39.7k fd304.dat 881k 50.1k bd304.dat 732k 50.2k (20 years ago, 18-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

         Re: BBB wheels —Darrell Urbien
(...) Wow, those are great. I can't touch that with the software-based converters.. At least not yet! Sorry - didn't know if I needed permission to post the DATs - didn't Ben already make them public? Oh well. I guess I can take them down if people (...)         Re: BBB wheels —Stefan Gustavson
(...) When importing from 3DS files into Max, you need to weld vertices for the model after import. 3DS files contain lots of coincident vertices for historic reasons. "max2dat" (my new name for ase2dat) now has native 3DS support, and handles (...) (20 years ago, 22-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)
