That is a great explanation, and its exactly what I did. Its reassuring
to me that a couple of my more creative solutions, are probably the best
way to take care of the issues I had.
my only thing left to do is place the two circular areas on this part.
they are dithered from dark to light in the center though, and I was
wondering if there is a typical solution to this problem?
Coding dat parts is fun, but it is not for the faint of heart. what was
nice about the peice i worked on, is that once you do one side i just
reused the coordinates for the other side with the deletion of a couple
of - signs.
btw you can see the part in a render i did last night while i slept.

any help with this circular dithered area would be greatly appreciated.
also should i do something with this part now that its partially made?

| (...) You might consider a series of concentric rings of different colors. If you don't mind the ongoing POV-primitive debate, or are only interested in using the part yourself, you could make the dat file show a solid grey circle for normal dat (...) (21 years ago, 28-Aug-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
