(...) John, You can save any part you download in the Parts directory, then either run Mklist.exe or File>Scan Parts in MLCad to add it to the parts list and use it in a model. To make those parts I actually had to modify the subpart 971s01 to what (...) (23 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) I know, I know... but the file I download is not an LDraw part. Under properties its listed as just 'file' under file trpe. Any suggestions? Also, how do you modify subparts? John Kruer (23 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I'm not sure what it's like when downloading only one DAT file from Lugnet, but perhaps because there were some other non-code lines in the code area, the server didn't do what is normally done. (...) In general, save the files to C:\ldraw\parts\, with the extension .DAT. In MLCAD, use File | Scan Parts to make sure MLCAD knows about the file(s) you downloaded. For other programs, run the utility c:\ldraw\mklist.exe to rebuild the parts (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
