I've only got two horses handy (one white, one black), but it looks like
they've got the same color bridle, but the ink/paint isn't completely
opaque. So it looks darker on the black than the white.
In general, the bridles look like the same pattern, but different colors.
Which means, if you wanted, you could make up one set of
face-pattern-subfiles, and share them between some of the different horse heads.
The files would be something like:
s\4492s02.dat - Bridle leather
s\4492s03.dat - Bridle buckles main color
s\4492s04.dat - Bridle buckles inset color
s\4493s05.dat - Horse face, without bridle or eye areas
In the white horse head, reference these files like:
1 6 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 s\4492s02.dat
1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 s\4492s03.dat
1 15 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 s\4492s04.dat

For the black horse, like this:

Of course, this approach might just be carrying things too far...
