  Re: Patterns suck!

(...) I'm gonna have to look into this again. Vectorizers are cool. Here's some more opensource code (3 URLs) a really nifty description of how to use the potrace vectorizer to generate edges, and the netlib triangulator to create the triangles. (...)   Re: Patterns suck!

(...) Or you could search the net for vectorizer programs like this one. (URL) a free vectorizer with source code. (URL) wonder how hard it would be to modify it to handle color and output ldraw format. Enjoy, Don (20 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Patterns suck!

(...) That's true. Bmp2dat needs some real edge tracking algorithms instead of just runlength encoding. Something like this. (URL) also needs an autorotate function. Just look for the longest straight line near 90 or 0 degrees and rotate it to (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) I'm sorry, but I think the "new" (for me bad) colors hasn't been done for LDraw until now. And I can't tell you wich of the dittered ones are correct. But unfortunately we have to integrate them into the virtual world, because all colors (...) (20 years ago, 5-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I got this file with the 0302 update, it includes 103a, 103b and 103c but I can't find them anywhere. I checked the latest complete.zip from ldraw.org and the other updates there but no luck.   Wheel for Wheel 36.8 x 14 ZR with Black Plastic Tyre Assembly  [DAT]

(URL) Hello, Yesterday I've also finished the wheel for 44293c01 (for the tire, look at (URL)). The file can be found here: (URL) It uses one unofficial subfile, 44293s02.dat. (URL) Hello, for my Landrover model I needed the part 44293c01 - Wheel 36.8 x 14 ZR with Black Plastic Tyre Assembly - but it was not available. So I tried to create it myself.   Re: Minifig pirate hook hand

Re: Minifig pirate hook hand  [DAT]

(...) You can't do it with a quarter sphere (because one quarter shears the wrong way (but with an 8th sphere you can shear y and z for movements in x. X is your pole of rotation. This one shears y and z by 0.2 and scales them by 0.5 to give a nice (...) (20 years ago, 29-Apr-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Minifig pirate hook hand

(...) Strictly speaking, (assuming I understand you correctly) you can't do this. As you 'squish' the primitive, the angle will change slightly, but it's kinda like the tangent angle is the last to change - by the time you switch it significantly (...)
