(...) ideas presented. You can greatly enhance the looks of the raytraced images further by adding antialiasing, though. This will also remove the odd interference pattern on the semi. The piece: Small spring-loaded shock absorber, as used in some Town cars. I've looked through my LDraw part list, but this item doesn't seem to be modelled yet. Is this true? I did figure out the problem with the mpd and also the floating antenna. I was messing with the mpd file because ldlite wasn't reading it right. (...) No, I don't get a duplicate of the rl-1a. But the rl-1aa (antenna) seems to be floating off to one side - disconnected from anything else. There does appear to be an error with the mpd in ldlite, it displays the submodel rl-1a twice, once rotated properly, and the second time without rotation. Is it the same on other (...) Very nice, Jeff. Your model shows that the TIE could have been done just fine without the new "blocky" bracket pieces. I'll bet your wings even come off easily enough. This is my custom TIE Fighter. It is missing the 2x2 cylinder tiles with the Empire's Symbol (replaced with a plain one) and the Cockpit dome, but it should be easy to spot where they are supposed to go.
