Re: Modular space station connection system

(...) Yeah... in the modules I have actually built I use that piece whenever possible. When I get a chance I'll put up a few of the modules... So far I've made a command station, one tube, a 3-way connection, and an engine. (This system works with (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

Re: Modular space station connection system

(...) <DAT Snipped> This is a good interface between modules (provided the module shape matches). One suggestion I would make though would be to use the "Brick 1 x 2 with Pin" <part:2458> instead of the technic pieces. My experience is that the pins (...)   Re: Sv: Micro Star Destroyer

Wow! very nice addition, and it looks almost to scale. P.S. Sorrry I didn't reply early, way earlier, I thought this thread was dead, hey that rhymes. (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Modular space station connection system  [DAT]

  Re: Modified sports hover car

(...) MPD-files work well with LDLITE on my system. (...) On the other hand, MPD-files do certainly _not_ work with LEdit! I think it makes sense to use MPD rather than inlining, as MPD may save some bandwidth in the case of multiple submodels. (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: Modified sports hover car

(...) Thanks! (...) Kinda gives it away, doesn't it? I actually think it ended up looking a lot like a GT40 (especially since it's blue) except with Lamborghini doors. (...) I suggest getting L3Lab and setting it as your default .DAT/.MPD viewer. It (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: Modified sports hover car

Wow, I wish I could build hover-cars like you Bram!!! Is the model in any way influenced by a Diablo (says on the .dat file)? Next time, could you please inline your models, since MPD files don't seem to work good with LDLite, because then people (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Large DAT files

Hi, Does anyone else have experience working with large DAT files? I'd like to discuss the limitations of the various CADs, L3P, POVRay, etc. I'm generating models in the neighbourhood of 29Kbricks, and I'm obviously pushing the capabilities of (...)   Re: "Sparrow" Scout VTOL

(...) Actually, I based this model on a new craft being tested by the US Military from last month's Popular Science/Mechanics (I can't remember which). They classified it as a VTOL, so I went with it. It actually takes off like a chopper, but (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: "Sparrow" Scout VTOL

To me this looks like an Autogyro where the forward thrust is generated by the propellor and the upward lift comes from the free-running rotor which is driven by airflow only. So it would be an STOL (Short Take Of and Landing), I think. Nice model (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: Model of a rockface

I liked it. I thought the right hand route was not challenging enough though. The rock overhang would have been much more suspenceful. Good work. -Chuck (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Model of a rockface  [DAT]

Here is something new. I used MLCad to model a simple rockface. See attached file. I then created a mini-fig to climb it. I used POV to render it into 3D. [X-POST and FUT lugnet.cad] (...) For straight viewing of models (especially from lugnet postings), you should go get a copy of L3Lab. I think if you go to (URL), you can get a link to L3Lab.
