PARTS.LST searching. (Was: Re: Part Fix 3959 Space Gun)

(...) Right now it seems to be listed on the parts tracker as "Bar 1.5L with Handle and Female Stud". I just added a PARTS.LST search capability to ldglite: (URL) there's nothing in that name that would help me narrow the search to find the part. (...) (...) You have to think to the non native english speaking people. So words have mostly both meanings. The UK and the US one. (...) A lot of parts wouldn't be find in the library if the names has such a name. CU Bernd (23 years ago, 3-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Part Fix 3959 Space Gun

(...) I'd really rather not. (...) Definitely agree with you there. (...) Argh. This has got to stop. Please, people! The Parts Tracker is not a discussion blog. Don't use it for conversations! (...) I'm not sure where that idea came from. (...) I (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Part Fix 3959 Space Gun

(...) I want to reopen this discussion for two reasons. 1) We are having a "discussion" on parts tracker about this part. That's the wrong way to do things, in my view. I placed a hold, the current author responded with counter arguments and we now (...) (23 years ago, 2-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

New SPORTS Parts on Parts Tracker, needs commenting

Well, I finally have created some of the parts from the sports sets, specifically two field sections: (URL) 30489> (URL) 30492> They still need some editing (I'd like to change the pivot area from cones to a torus, for example), and in the larger (...)   Re: What'd Datsville look like?

(...) On the two "newer" (well...) versions of LDBoxer, I've abandoned the *.box extension and instead I use Parts\B\*.dat for boxed versions. Have you tried them yet? Maybe they don't have the same memory limits? I think I changed from Memo to (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: What'd Datsville look like?

(...) rev017 available at: (URL) I've lost track of the changes. As usual. :( Documentation is not my strongest side. Keep rev014 in case 017 has errors. /Tore (23 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  a little 3d puzzle

some time ago my nephews fought over some 3d puzzle. my grandmother settled the fight by taking it away. so i found it besides her pc and i had ldraw on it . . . well i couldn't resist so here are the parts: www.tu-bs.de/~y00076...sgummi.zip doesn't (...)   Re: What'd Datsville look like?

(...) The next major revision of LDView is far enough along to render Datsville. (The current version will crash no matter what your hardware is, while the new version seems to only use around 170MB of RAM to display Datsville.) It doesn't do so at (...)   Re: What'd Datsville look like?

Looks great! BTW, if anyone's interested, I used LDBoxer to convert the bricks in Datsville to boxes. This speeds up considerably. It's available at my LDraw page - (URL) LDBoxer I was able to render sections of Datsville in LDView at 6-15fps! There (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  What'd Datsville look like?

About a year ago I read a post asking what Datsville looked like since the pictures on the Lugnet webpage are broken links. This inspired me to see if I could render Datsville on my competer. I ran rev014 through L3P and it spit back a 12MB (!) (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.models, FTX) !

Re: LDraw-to-Raves (was: POV in Part)

(...) Hmm, that would be true - if the wrappers use the same names as L3P generates (so the object for the 2x4 brick would be named 3001_dot_dat). Right now, they don't - the names are like ar_3001. Even so, changing '3001_dot_dat' to (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jun-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
