Do you think you could email me with some of your observations on using • the
LDraw tools in the classroom?

Can you be just a little more specific so as to guide me toward the content
you are looking for?  Can you provide a sample observation?

I'm thinking on the learning curve. The tools are pretty complex to
understand their relationship with each other. Also, it's challenging to
learn the names of the parts. How do non-LEGO students adjust to learning
parts names? How do they adjust to the idea that nothing snaps togehter,
that they have to align the parts by hand?

Sorry I'm being vague, but it's also kinda on purpose :-) You've taught the
stuff in a classroom setting, I haven't (yet, maybe someday I will..). I've
seen kids for the most part trying MLCAD on computers at LEGOWORLD and
BricksWest, and in more one-on-one settings.

I'm more convinced of its value after having
helped kids in Holland learn how to use it at LEGOWORLD, and would like to
continue to gather information and channel it into a project targeted at
educators of various grade levels.

Again, my observations will only be with adult learning and adult learning
styles.  Will that be beneficial?

I think it will be. My personal focus is on LDraw and kids -- 11-12ish. But,
I see the value of it in higher education, especially when used in
conjunction with Robotics. So, that different perspective will help me see
the whole picture of LDraw and education.

PS - when I say 'LDraw' I mean the system of tools, including MLCAD :-)
