help! Ldraw part files —James Brown
Ok, typically, I try not to think of myself as stupid, but there's obviously something I'm missing here. When I open .dat files here using Ldlite, one of two things almost invariably happens: 1) It comes up blank. 2) The model draws, but the message (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —Steve Bliss
About missing files: did you download and install the original LDraw files? I think just under half of the parts are in the three files: ldraw.exe (it's a compressed archive, not the ldraw.exe rendering program) lp97-13.exe lp97-14.exe There are (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —James Brown
(...) Yup, I've installed all three of those files, from the JJM site. As a further assistance to try and figure this out, I opened your latest file (lugnet.cad.dat:82) and it the following parts came up 'not found': 3048, 754, 3049, 32017, 4286, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —Steve Bliss
(...) Did downloading the new updates help? BTW, the one blank posting was a one-piece model. The one part was originally distributed in the main LDraw package. Judging from the file's date on my system, it may have been renumbered in one of L-CAD's (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —James Brown
(...) June, (...) I haven't had a chance to DL them yet, but I'm sure that will fix the problem. I just didn't realize there was still that much activity with Ldraw, and new updates on a regular basis. Like I said - Too stupid to live. :) (1) 1: (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Too make things easier, you only need to download complete.exe, a file that contains all the updates. (You'll have to pretend you're an "experienced user and don't want any frills" to get the file, though. --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Hmm...I'm sure I've got a part somewhere around here I never use... Timmy? Here, Timmy! Good boy! You're going to go see Uncle Larry! :) James (URL) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —John Neal
If I were you, James, I would seriously reconsider a *love* offering of the *hated* Timmy minifig, lest you anger the Larry and incur His wrath (1) (1) Best to offer a prize such as a *silver brick* and offer up a Timmy as a sacrifice (2) (2) See (...)         Re: help! Ldraw part files —James Brown
(...) Ahhh yes, the silver brick. Every once in a while, something occurs that makes me want to be an American. Fortunately, it shortly goes away. :) <grin, duck & cover> James (URL) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: help! Ldraw part files —John Neal
I'm confused--Was it the introduction of a silver brick that was only available in the US that made you wish you were here? And why would it be fortunate that the silver bricks went away? };-) (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
