About missing files:  did you download and install the original LDraw
files?  I think just under half of the parts are in the three files:

ldraw.exe (it's a compressed archive, not the ldraw.exe rendering
         program)
lp97-13.exe
lp97-14.exe

Yup, I've installed all three of those files, from the JJM site.

As a further assistance to try and figure this out, I opened your latest file
(lugnet.cad.dat:82) and it the following parts came up 'not found':
3048, 754, 3049, 32017, 4286, 3660, 4073, 4589, 2412, 4070
along with a couple others that flashed by too quickly

(BTW, cool model!)

There are links to these files from the JJM, look in

Yoiks!  I think I've just found my problem!  It's been a while since I looked
at the JJM site (ldraw has been installed on my machine since about last June,
or so), and there's a whole bunch of new updates.

I don't know why it might come up blank, unless you are running high-res
with not a lot of RAM.  In that case, it may take a long time for LDLite
to draw anything.

Nope, that's not it. (800x600 on a p100 w/32Mb RAM), and besides, the LDlite
gives me the 'click on drawing to continue, and then a 'finished' and a elapsed
time.  hmm...
Here's some of the files that come up blank:

hrm, ok, I give up.  I can't find more than that one coming up blank (although
I'm certain it was not the only one that has)

<snippage>
missing a good 1/4 of the parts that people are using.  Are there parts files
elsewhere?  Is there some sort of setting I'm unaware of?  Am I just too • stupid
to live? :)

Conclusion: James is too stupid to live. :)

(...) Did downloading the new updates help? BTW, the one blank posting was a one-piece model. The one part was originally distributed in the main LDraw package. Judging from the file's date on my system, it may have been renumbered in one of L-CAD's (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad)
