Getting a bad impression?

Hello,
I am afraid I am getting a bad impression of the CAD list designers nowdays. I
remember when one (a little person with no significance) could ask for help on
a small piece and 9 times out of 10 there would be someone to whip up the
piece.
I have noticed a disturbing trend lately, and attitude of "If you want it go
make it yourself! I only design things for myself, do the same!". I could be
wrong But I dont feel that was the attitude of James Jessiman, when he wrote
LDRAW. I got the impression that He made it for all to enjoy! I know my
request for something like a large castle door may seem foolish to some and
maybe not even needed, I do agree there may not be many to use this piece, But
if one uses it then it is worth creating?
I am not a CAD person at all if I was I would design the piece and many others
just for other people to enjoy, but alas I do not have the skill for such.
I would hope that 1 person out there would respond and say I will design it,
Not for you, but for all to enjoy later down the road. I personally feel that
this piece is needed to finish the castle section of LDRAW (cant have a castle
without the large door!).
I do not mean this letter to offend anyone, Just makes me feel bad how times
have changed where more and more people, even with a simular hobby have turned
to a more self centered view of their hobby. I know that some here will agree
we have seen this same attitude in the auctions, not even willing to let a
person have 1 lot when there are many, I know sometimes you need allot of the
pieces, but then I catch myself and say to myself they may need those pieces
just as much if not more.
Well, there is allot of swell people on this forum, otherwise I wouldnt bother
to post this letter, because it wouldn't do any good if there weren't.
If one can help with this part, it would be swell. If not then none more needs
to be said.:(

| (...) I think this may be a temporary slump due in part to at least one person who had repeatedly asked the group for things in a tone/manner which had been considered improper. That person's requests often elicited quick and sometimes harsh (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad)

| There is another possibility to consider. Maybe the currently active part authors (such as me) do not have a copy of this part to work from. Also, I seem to recall that someone had finished this part, but it had size problems. Does anyone remember (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad)

| I sent this message once, though haven't seen it come though to the list... checking if I see it this time :) I understand how you are feeling, I've wanted for that door for a while also.. though the problem is.. we've got 90% space freaks <take no (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.cad)
