The reason I am asking is that I cannot tell which cone is official or

Maybe all unofficial parts should have "(Unofficial)" in their descriptions.
That should remove any ambiguity.

I would suggest that the "official" elements should have "official" in their
descriptions, instead.  "Unofficial" elements can come from any of a zillion
sources impossible to oversee, but the "official" elements come from a single,
tightly-controlled source.

Part names have a maximum length of 64 characters.  Some rare parts run up
against this limit.  Consequently, I don't think adding "Official" to official
part names is a viable solution.  (To be honest, it would also by really
annoying to see that on the end of all official part names.)  The length
restriction could probably be safely ignored with unofficial parts.  Although
I'm not sure this is a good solution to the problem, I can't think of something
better off-hand.

Ah--I get it.  I was thinking that it would be sufficient to include it
somewhere in the hidden text of the file, but if we're talking about the actual
part name, then I can see how that might not work.

Dave!
