  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) Actually, having just played some more, I don't understand how All Real works. When using any particular colour it only show part available, but when using All Real all parts are shown (as you would expect, they are all avaialbe in one colour (...)   Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) I've had a quick play and have a few thoughts 1: its a great idea 2: it seems to work with a couple of provisos. 2a: the dropdown colour choice box doesn't seem to scroll using the mouse but does using the cursor keys 2b: I get missing parts (...)   Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

(...) Apparently it's not too hard to get it to compile under x64. I had a friend using 64 bit debian fetch the latest code from CVS and build it. He had to install the developer version of libOSMesa to compile, but that was about it. His Direct (...) (18 years ago, 5-May-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) Scott - Haven't checked it out yet (Installing Windows is on my to-do) but I love the concept! Looking forward to seeing it in action when I have the chance. -Tim (18 years ago, 5-May-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Release of Color Manager

I am proud to introduce Color Manager for MLCAD and Ldraw. (URL) The main feature of Color Manager is to filter your parts list to only those pieces that are available (from Bricklink) in the color that you choose. This allows the user to build (...)   Re: Parallels Advice

(...) Travis; You, of course, are correct. Home Basic and Home Premium cannot be virtualized, but the more expensive version can. Just recently MS was going to change the EULA to allow virtualization, but then changed its mind back. --Jim (18 years ago, 4-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) I run Windows XP on my Mac via dual boot and VMWare Fusion and have had zero problems with any LDraw related software. I also run Vista on a dedicated laptop and have had few issues with some older programs (LeoCAD to be specific) but no show (...) (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) That's not 100% accurate. Vista Business and Vista Ultimate can both be legally run in a VM, as far as I understand. --Travis (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) Tim, I cannot comment directly on the LDraw software or on Parallels, however I run Vista via Bootcamp on my Intel IMac without any problems. If you can stand this additional inconveinance there should be no problem running LDraw software or (...) (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) I'm mostly interested in checking out SR3D and LD4DModeler. In addition to LDraw feedback, I'm also interested in general opinions on the two and am polling tech friends inside/outside of LEGO and a couple Microsoft evangelists I know who will (...) (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) What specific Windows LDraw software do you want to use? I would just check whether there are any Vista compatibility issues with those programs. (I haven't heard of any.) Jim (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

(...) A six year old version doesn't sound all that great. How hard would it be to get the current version to compile under x64? Failing that, how hard would it be to get the 32 bit version running under x64? With commands like linux32 and such I'm (...)   Parallels Advice

I just bought Parallels with the intent of running Windows LDraw software and eventually Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Now comes the decision: Should I go with XP or Vista? I've heard bad about Vista in the IT community, and I can scrounge an XP (...) (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

(...) I would definitely appreciate the help! I don't know which method would be best, as I said I'm not a coder, but I can follow directions well enough. Thanks, Tim (18 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

Sorry, I missed your bug report. LeoCAD used to compile on 64 bit computers but it's been a long time since I last tried and I don't have access to one anymore. From your bug report it looks like 'make config' is failing. You can either manually (...) (18 years ago, 2-May-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

(...) A 32-bit build of LDView should work fine as long as you have the 32-bit shared libraries installed that it needs. If you want, I can work with you to get it up and running. As it happens, I have successfully built a 32-bit version of the (...) (18 years ago, 2-May-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

(...) About 6 years ago there was a build of ldglite ran in 64bit linux on an alpha processor. It could possibly be made to work again but I can't really recommend it because the old LEDIT tutorial is now long gone from here: (URL) the tutorial it'd (...)
