Thought so. Your LDRAWDIR is probably just C:\LDRAW.
You can confirm this, if these folders exist:
   C:\LDRAW\P
   C:\LDRAW\PARTS
   C:\LDRAW\MODELS

LDRAWDIR is a way of telling LDraw related programs where to find
the P, PARTS and MODEL folders.

Now, why does L3P think LDRAWDIR is C:\LDRAW\LEdit ?
Either an environment variable LDRAWDIR is set,
or you have a file C:\Windows\ldraw.ini with this content:
   [LDraw]
   BaseDirectory=C:\LDRAW\Edit

Try opening C:\Windows\ldraw.ini in Notepad and correct the BaseDirectory
to C:\LDRAW.

I've decided
that I'm going to keep all models on the C: drive from now on.

That's your choice, it is not necessary for solving the current problem.

As of this point, I still have not uninstalled and subsequently reinstalled the
programs. On that point, when I uninstall will it remove any .dat/.ldr/.mpd
files with the program files?

No, I can't imagine that.

In looking in the C:\LDRAW\LEdit folder I find no other folders, just the LEDIT.exe and LEDIT.html files. Would this be causing the prob. I've decided that I'm going to keep all models on the C: drive from now on. As of this point, I still have not (...) (18 years ago, 24-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad)
