| | I seem to have a problem with Mlcad and importing models and rendering them. Let me give you an example... Model #1 would be a road, tree, and roadsign. Model #2 would either be a minifig or a car. NewModel: The saved file of Model 1 & 2. Now in (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Hi Chris, I'll assume you are using MPD format, because you talk of importing. Is this correct? What tool did you use to go from LDraw file to POV-Ray? Are you sure that tool supports MPD? After you import model 1 and model 2, you might want (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) You are right, I am using MPD. The tool I am using is L3PAO. I thought this would work, but maybe it doesn't? I've never tried LPub. (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Chris, I've never used L3PAO, so I cannot say. In MLCad I'd try creating a new model in your current MPD that uses Model 1, and Model 2. I'd use MLCad's MPD ordering menu to make sure your top level model (your new model) is the first in the (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | | (...) On a related Note, I should shortly be releasing an app that works with L3P and povray with a number of enhancements over L3PAO including being able to select which sub model to render. (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) I must not be doing something right, because I tried it again. Here's what I'm doing. Model 1 is a "road.ldr" which is a grey, straight road plate and a stop sign on it. Model 2 is a "figure.ldr" consisting of a simple minifig. Here are the (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) OK, the problem is starting with road.ldr. That makes it the first model in the file, which is always what L3P uses to generate the POV file. And because you only added road.ldr and figure.ldr to the 3rd model, it never gets rendered. What you (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Oh THANK YOU! That was it! I don't remember seeing that in the tutorials that I was going through, but that was it. Thank you so much. OK, now that I've got that part down, my next question has to do with creating and rendering stickers. How (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad)

| | | | (...) Hi, With reference to stickers, if you have Linux or Unix or feel up for a challenge, you can use my img2sticker program as mentioned here (URL). There is also an older program called 'bmp2dat' (I think) which a search on the LDraw site should (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
