  Re: swept wings

(...) Cool! But things like this should go into .cad.dat.ideas. :) Jeff (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Aha! I don't remember that pain, but that sounds about right! That would certainly explain why that double-tube plate made parts connected to it so difficult to pull apart! :-( --Todd [followups to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands] (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) I believe that would take care of the problem. CSTUD.DAT wouldn't be recognized by LDraw and LEdit as anything special--these two programs recognize files named stud*.dat as special files; LDraw substitutes stu2*.dat when the fast draw option (...)   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) I'd say, brickwise, Tyco's biggest problem is they didn't round off the edges of the bricks. You thought it hurt to step on *LEGO* bricks? Those Tyco pieces were doubly painful. Also, the lack of rounding made it hard to pry the pieces apart. (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) It's funny you should mention that; I had the same thought once I'd downloaded the latest version of L3P and started messing around with the quality settings. If I were to use a CSTUD.DAT file, what would have to be different about it for L3P (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Timmy?

OK, that thread about modeling clone bricks was one thing, but modeling Timmy? You've gone too far now! Unless, of course, if you plan to LDraw Todd's Timmy Launcher from MindFest :-) -John Van Dave Schuler <orrex@excite.com> wrote in message (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Best way to make parts images?

(...) Quick and Dirty: - Install LDLite and LDraw Add-On - Point LDAO at LDLite for catalog-images (see (URL)). - Run the Make Catalog repeatedly, once for each color. - After running each color-batch, copy/convert all the files in ldraw\vec\ to a (...)   Timmy?

Has anyone done work on LDraw parts for Timmy's torso and/or head? I've been working on the torso pattern, but if someone already has the project underway, I'd be interested to learn of its progress. Thanks, Dave! (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad)

(...) I'm not especially code-savvy, but I'll try to put something together without embarrassing myself! I'll mail you the link when I have something to show you. Thanks, Dave! (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)
