  Re: LSynth Rubber Band Tutorial

(...) There's a tutorial in French here that appears to expand on Willy's tutorial. (URL) on the pictures it looks like there are plenty of examples of rubber bands and belts. Have fun, Don (14 years ago, 17-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: *** MLCad V3.30 *** new feature request

(...) LeoCAM had a really rudimentary "snap-to" functionality added to LeoCAD. It didn't work entirely well, and was never entirely completed (as it was an academic proof, rather than an actual attempt to create a functionality). The sources have (...)   Re: LSynth Rubber Band Tutorial

(...) Hi Andrew, This is not really a detailed tutorial, but the usage example I posted on this page shows rubber bands, including sample files: (URL) this helps. Jim (14 years ago, 17-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  LSynth Rubber Band Tutorial

I have been playing around with MLCAD and LSynth, and have had lots of luck when generating point-to-point and point-through-point items like cables and hoses. However, I have had exactly no luck trying to generate rubber bands and belts. I see (...) (14 years ago, 17-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) Thanks for the awesome set of links!! Saves me a ton of work! I will have to see how well they integrate with LDraw generated models. Mike (14 years ago, 16-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** MLCad V3.30 *** new feature request

(...) You could try to track down a copy of leoCAM. Maybe that'll do it. Or perhaps some of the leoCAM features have migrated back into leocad? I don't know, but it might be worth a look. Good luck, Don (14 years ago, 15-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) Someone has already created a rigged Lego character for use in Blender. Take a look at the following link: (URL) fun! Reuben (14 years ago, 15-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) Hi there, You could try experimenting with Unity3D. This is a free download. It looks like the Unity suite of tools was used to create the online game Lego game "The Quest for R2-D2" (URL) are some tutorials on how to create characters with (...) (14 years ago, 15-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

Re: *** MLCad V3.30 *** new feature request

(...) Well, after a long discussion with Sergio via e-mail and a period of trying different things, it appears that SR3DBuilder will only run (both now and in the future) on a native installation of Windows (not even a virtual machine) that has a (...)   Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) I'm sorry I don't have any real experience with the software, I just happen to hear about it through the "big bunny buck" short film. Roland (14 years ago, 10-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) Wow, you're right! I was able to import an OBJ version of my minifig created with LdrDat2Obj. It didn't like the 3DS version I created with LDView for some reason, however. I'm reading one of the tutorials on animation right now. I have a (...) (14 years ago, 8-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) A warning though: When you download the trial version of Poser 8 they ask for your credit card number. And in my case they charged $1 to it despite the trial version being free and the invoice showing $0. Mike (14 years ago, 8-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) I'm pretty sure you can do these kinds of things with blender (URL) it has a steep learning curve, and you'll have to create the minifig models from scratch. Roland (14 years ago, 8-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Advanced minifig animations

(...) I did a little research. You can create bones and poses in Daz3D Studio and Poser. Poser 8 costs $250, but you can buy Poser 7 for $50. Daz3D Studio is free, but you have to buy a $30 plugin to create your own bones and poses from scratch. (...) (14 years ago, 8-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

Re: BFC problems, model or converter?

(...) Some of the details on the face are messed up too, though things are definitely a lot better. Mike (14 years ago, 4-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Starfighter instructions

(...) Jim, Very nice indeed! May I have the list of quirks, or are you looking into them? Kevin (14 years ago, 5-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, FTX)

Re: BFC problems, model or converter?

(...) It does work rather well (MeshLab does support 3DS)... (...) Indeed, it seems that invertnext statement is ignored. On the minifig, only front and inside of hands are shown backwards in MeshLab (other inverted areas such as cap inside are (...) (14 years ago, 3-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Starfighter instructions

(...) Thanks! Just to be clear, the first image is an actual photo (although I did post some other images and test renderings of the LDraw version on Flickr). (...) Yep. My standard procedure is to build a model with real bricks, then to rebuild it (...) (14 years ago, 3-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, FTX)

  Re: Starfighter instructions

(...) You may have borked the link, but your render is simply stunning. Well done, and thanks for posting! Did you use Bricksmith to create it? JOHN (14 years ago, 3-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, FTX)

  Re: Starfighter instructions

(...) Ah, Lugnet. Looks like I borked the image links. Let's try that again. Here's the model, including links to the instruction images: (URL) And here's the first page of the instructions themselves: (URL) (14 years ago, 3-Aug-10, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, FTX)
