Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) I am interested in creating building instructions, but I would also like a nice rendering that I will edit in Photoshop for the front box cover. I have used an older version of Lpub and POV-Ray before on my computer with windows XP, so I am (...) (16 years ago, 11-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) Agreed if Justin wants to create building instructions. But I think he wants to render his models. If so, I'd recommend not using LPub, but L3P and Add on to convert to POV Ray and render manually. Jaco (16 years ago, 10-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) I would *highly* recommend LPub version 4 (4.0.0.1, to be precise) using LDView as the renderer. (URL) (16 years ago, 10-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

  POV-Ray wont work with Vista

Hi I just bought a new computer with Windows Vista. I am installing all of my L-draw software on it but I can not get Pov-ray to work. I downloaded the all-in-one installer at Ldraw.org. I am trying to render a model with Lpub, but when it opens up (...) (16 years ago, 9-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) I'll be putting ROTSTEP to use properly now, too. Thanks. (...) LDView 4 is awesome. From my perspective, recent versions of LDView, LPub, and Bricksmith form a Macintosh LDraw Power Triad. Jim (16 years ago, 7-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

Yes, actually, it was LDView that was confused. Travis' (...) (16 years ago, 7-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) And you were right! The new version of LDView works. LDView 3.2 does not. Thanks very much for your help! Allen (16 years ago, 7-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Is anyone working on 32745?

(...) Gosh. I forgot this thread. I have been working on this part for some time now, and I have a few things done (mainly the rear half, I was going to work on front part). I hope I have not duplicated too much of your work. Could you keep me in (...) (16 years ago, 7-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) Well, Allen said that the LDView 4 test build fixed the problem. At a guess, LPub using -cg on the command line (to set the camera angle to 0 so that all the rotation can be in the model itself?) and the QT version isn't handling that like it (...)   Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) Please note that instead of "0 ROTSTEP 0 0 0 REL", the preferred meta command is "0 ROTSTEP END". (...) There are 4 kinds of ROTSTEPS: REL, ABS, ADD, END For REL, you add the angles from the ROTSTEP meta to the default viewing angle to get the (...)   Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) The more I think about it, the more I suspect that LDView 3.2 on the Mac is to blame. I sent Allen an email with a link to an LDView 4 test build. --Travis (16 years ago, 6-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) snip (...) Alas. That is what I'm supposed to see, not what I actually do see. Something is convinced that the 0,0,0 rotation is actually equal to the default 3D angle, which causes requests for the real default 3D angle to be over-rotated. (...)   Re: personal OMR (now 879 sets)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) It is not coincidence that it works. LPub is written to handle it your way. STEPs and ROTSTEPs that are not preceded by type 1 through 5 lines are not treated as step. (...) Kevin (16 years ago, 4-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) Well, I've definitely been doing it wrong! I guess it's just coincidence that my approach renders OK in LPub. Plus, Bricksmith doesn't treat rotsteps as steps - yet! Jim (16 years ago, 4-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
