Isecalc, a LDraw intersection line calculator

(2 URLs) Isecalc> utility, intended for LDraw parts authors, computes the intersection line of two sets of triangles or quads. Each set is provided to the utility as separate LDraw files. A third file containing the intersection lines is created. (...) (17 years ago, 26-May-07, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

  New FastRad Radiosity Settings

Greetings everyone! You may or may not have seen some of the renders I've made on my (URL) Brickshelf Folder>. A while ago, I posted my 'FastRad' settings there, but I think that they were a bit too messy and complicated. I have since cleaned them (...)   Re: LDraw Wiki - Beta release

(...) Please note that you will need to set up a new account for the wiki. Unfortunately it is difficult to share accounts from the main site. Sorry about this. Tim (17 years ago, 25-May-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  LDraw Wiki - Beta release

Hi all, Following recent discussions, Dan Boger has very kindly set us up a wiki for LDraw. This is intended to be a way for anyone to add 'content' of relavence to LDraw easily and without relying on the time of the webmasters to integrate it into (...)   Tread part and use in MLCAD

Hello, I have visited this topic a few times without much progress, but perhaps I am simply missing some key information. I have the need to use this tread part: (URL) to be x203) I recall it took a while to find it (I think because there was only a (...) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Custom Logo on Minifig

I am planning on giving a Lego related talk and wanted to create a minifig with conferences logo printed on the torso. Is there any easy way to do this? I've tried using the BMP2LDraw utility to convert the logo to LDraw format but it errors out (...) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Articles on ldraw.org out of date - I can help

(...) I think Curiously should be replaced with "Distressingly" or something similar. The official MPD tutorial on ldraw.org is telling people to do something that completely violates the MPD spec. If you follow those instructions, you'll end up (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

Re: Articles on ldraw.org out of date - I can help

(...) Curiously enough, the tutorial cited ((URL)) recommends making the first submodel an empty model in order to "help in speeding up the upload time" for large models. I think it's interesting that MPD is still often presented as an extension to (...) (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Re: open source ldd?

(...) I spent a couple evenings looking over this when it was first released. For a proprietary format, it's nicely straightforward (the widespread use of XML lately helps, of course). (...)   Re: Articles on ldraw.org out of date - I can help

(...) Tim, I agree. At the time the article was written, MPD was a way of packing files for easy shipping. These days it is the preffered way of working with any model that has at least one sub-model. Starting and ending as MPD is much better than (...)   Re: LDD Model of GG-1 Electric Locomotive - Advice Requested

(...) Bruce Chamberlain postulated that the problem is due to one of the 3-axle trucks being *pushed* through the curve rather than pulled. I suspect that a rubber band between the two 3-axle trucks would help - I will try that sometime. --Bill. (17 years ago, 19-May-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ldd, FTX)

(...) Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look. I'll have to do some testing with zziplib to see if it will work with the ldraw.org zip files.
