Re: Call for GUI part editor

(...) I just wrote a plugin for LDDP (LDraw DesignPad) which does 'SyncEdit'. If you have seen the later versions of the Borland IDE, you know what I mean, if you haven't, it's like this: You select a part of a program and click the SyncEdit button. (...) (18 years ago, 17-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Classic Windows: Variants of 646*.dat

(...) Following the naming scheme discussed here, the full set of LDraw files for the classic windows and their glass from 1x1x1 up to 1x6x2 has now been posted to the Parts Tracker. Please see the review summary (URL) which should help to manage (...) (18 years ago, 17-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Call for GUI part editor

(...) Okay. My point list now only shows the points of the polygons, not of the primitives. But if I implemented primitives, it would just add these points to the list. When I modify one, these point's wouldn't be affected because - as you said - (...) (18 years ago, 17-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Call for GUI part editor

(...) Ah, but it's here it's becoming interesting :-) Now the point list must keep track of which points are 'free' and which are belonging to a primitive (and not only 'a' but 'which?'), because the points of the primitive may not be changed (...) (18 years ago, 16-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Call for GUI part editor

(...) Yes, primitives are important. In my program, you can add them just like any other part. I already implemented moving and I wanted to add scaling and rotating, but I did not understand the rotation matrix command. Could anyone explain that to (...) (18 years ago, 16-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Call for GUI part editor

(...) Where do the primitives enter in this picture? It looks like both Kevin's ideas and your program are ignoring the primitives, working down on the bare polygons. Primitives are an essential part of part creation, aren't they? (Correct me if I'm (...) (18 years ago, 16-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Call for GUI part editor

Hi Kevin, (...) You are completely right. Such a GUI editor is a program I was always looking for (and - unfortunately- I still am). But for two years I have been programming on a little editor to do things like that. My programming skills are not (...) (18 years ago, 16-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV animation of walking minifig

(...) These are great Eric. I've always taken note of minifig walkcycles, in independent brick films or Lego's own video games, and there are not to many successes on that front. Walk cycles are difficult to begin with to make a convincing sense of (...) (18 years ago, 16-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: POV animation of walking minifig

Re: POV animation of walking minifig

(...) This looks great! Eagerly awaiting the download... BTW, the first link on the 'Walking minifig' page, 'Info about Johnny W.' ((URL) is not working for the moment, maybe it's just not ready yet? (18 years ago, 14-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

LEGO Color Chart (the portable kind) available

I’ve been holding off on announcing this, because I know how sensitive the color issue is, but things are what they are, and I've created this nice chart for everyone, so the time has come to share. :-) At the link below, you can find a .PDF file (...)   Re: conext sensetive web pages

(...) I know.... responding to my own post.... I guess this is the same as having your web browser know about MLCad and viewing models over the web using that. The only difference is that the viewer doesn't *have* to have LDraw/MLCad installed, and (...) (18 years ago, 13-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

  conext sensetive web pages

My girlfriend came up with a great idea the other day...... What if you were looking at a rendering of a lego model generated by LDraw, and you could drag your cursor over a part, and it would tell you the part number? That could be pretty handy, (...) (18 years ago, 13-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Call for GUI part editor

Hi all, I've been up to my ears in NXT land, in case anyone noticed or wondered about my absence. Needless to say there are "unoffical" Ldraw parts being developed. I've increased my skill set as a part author (previously I've only modified parts (...) (19 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Question for a BrickJournal article..

(...) Thanks, Chris - now, the followup: Has the award been given out between 2001 and 2005? Sorry for asking these questions, but I can't find this info. Thanks again, Joe (19 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Question for a BrickJournal article..

Hi all, does anyone have a list of all the recipients of the James Jessiman Memorial Award. Also, what is the criteria for the award? I'm working on an article and couldn't find the information online. Thanks, Joe Meno Editor/Publisher, BrickJournal (19 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)
