Re: Overview of LEGO Factory suggestions

(...) LET'S DO IT!!!!! (...) otay (...) Just like real life -minus, Brick Link, ebay, etc,..... but yes your right. I have always said, LEGO is smart about making their sets and parts collectible. They ussually don't open the flood gate to full. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Overview of LEGO Factory suggestions

OK, we've all had some time to play with LF and the new LDD now. I think it's time to try and compose a clear, well-thought-ought "dear LEGO" letter explaining whatever seems to be in the way of this being a successful program. It may be that LEGO (...)   Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

(...) Heh...yeah, clearly it needs some updating. Honestly, I sorta lost interest when I couldn't get any feedback or help from Bricklink - that was the lynchpin in the system and without it, it was tough to make much more happen. Of course, that (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, FTX)

Re: Newbie questions about Lego CAD

(...) I recommend that you put the chassis as a sub-model relative to the main model. You can either do this using separate files, or you could use MPD. Use Multipart ->New model to start on the superstructure. Also make sure the superstructure (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

(...) I just tried this, but with mixed success. For example, I tried to buy parts for your Intermodal Spine Car. This produces "Oops! There was a problem processing your request: 1. Item #21: Item Not Found in Catalog." (You'd think it would then (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Newbie questions about Lego CAD

Hallo! I'm new to the LEGO CAD world, but so far I'm really amazed about the great possibilities this programs offer. Well, I try to ldraw the official LEGO Set 8837, one of my favorites before the dark age. Now I'm getting into some trouble. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Any FPS or RTS AFOL modders out there?

I like acronyms...anyways... I'm working on BrickSpace, and now BrickFire. Also trying to learn C so I can write my own FPS and RTS, but that's a bit longer term. Right now, I'm wondering if among our fine ranks there are any of you who are modders, (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming, FTX)

Re: LDDP update (Was: "Y Column all zeroes")

Re: LDDP update (Was: "Y Column all zeroes")

(...) Since using this beta, I have noticed that text selection is "screwy". Try select text by pressing the up key while holding shift. It appears to select text from the new cursor position to the old selection start position as opposed to the (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

(...) The problem exists that Bricklink doesn't use the same numbering system that Peeron does for parts where the number is unknown. Bricklink and Peeron also differ, in some cases, on part naming. This leads to the neccesity of constructing a huge (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

(...) Although not addressing the "cheapest parts list" desire, the Building Instructions Portal ((URL)) has something similar. Users who add a link to their Building Instruction can also upload the LDraw file and, thanks to BrikTrak and Richard (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

(...) From a technical standpoint, I think this wouldn't be too hard to do. You'd query each vendor with the list of parts, and taking into account the vendor's minimum lot size for each part, get back a mock order that covers as much of that parts (...)   Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

(...) Larry- I've always wondered why BrickLink was not set up to provide a user with the cheapest solution to a specific want list. One could argue that it's counter productive for sellers wanting to get the most for their wares, but BL is aleady (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: How do I get these new applications working?

(...) Now I know! There is a bug in set-ldrawdir.command. Set-ldrawdir.command should not be using a "~". I just confirmed this by chaning mine to a "~", and ldglite could not find my ldraw directory. So, you did everything right, we didn't. Sorry. (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service
